Jim is unique from other haulers in York for several important reasons:
A Few Things We Don't Take
We haul almost anything except for vehicles. Jim's Hauling does not currently offer any towing services due to the added complexity of properly disposing of vehicles.
We've found over the years that we can price our services more efficiently by removing vehicle hauling from the equation. As such, we only offer junk and waste hauling of items that can be loaded onto a dump truck or trailer.
As a rule of thumb, if it's on wheels, we generally don't take it – except for some small-engine vehicles, such as riding mowers, go-karts, etc.

Every job is different, which is why it's impossible for us to publish generic rates online. We price every job individually to ensure that the estimate is fair and accurate for the work involved.

Working with Jim is simple. You'll always deal with Jim directly, and we have very little overhead. That allows us to offer lower prices and make the whole process as quick and easy as it be.

The first step to every junk-hauling job is calling us for a free estimate. Jim will ask for some basic information about what you need to be hauled, and he'll provide a price estimate. There's no obligation or pressure.
If you decide to move forward, Jim will work with you to determine a pickup day and time that works for your schedule. Jim arrives on schedule and finishes the job on time, according to your needs. You don't pay until the job is complete (check or cash, please).
In the rare event that your waste is significantly larger than what was discussed over the phone (for example, if you needed more items removed at the last minute), Jim will readjust your estimate when he arrives. But again, you're never under any obligation or pressure to move forward.
We Provide Dump Receipts!
This is what differentiates us from other junk removal services in York. We take pride in responsibly disposing of everything we haul, and we have the dump receipts to show for it.
Jim always stresses the importance of asking for a dump receipt. It gives you peace of mind your waste was properly transported to the appropriate facility.
Please keep in mind… Dump receipts are NOT the same as your receipt from Jim's Hauling. Dump receipts only show the price we were charged to properly dump your items – this is usually just one component that is factored into your hauling price, along with travel distance, time, and so on. (See "Hauling Service Cost" above.)
What Do We Do With Your Junk?
We responsibly dispose of it at a local waste management facility. For example, if you're located in the York area, we would likely transport your waste to the York County Solid Waste Authority. The same goes for hauling jobs near Harrisburg and Lancaster – we haul it to the closest facility that takes your items so that they can be properly sorted, recycled, taken to a landfill, and so on.
We do not purchase or appraise any items. Similarly, we do not sell the items we haul. Many people assume that we're able to earn additional revenue by selling what we haul to traders, antique stores, and resellers. This is not the case. That would require taking on additional staff and overhead, which is not what we're about. That is why we focus exclusively on junk hauling and removal.
